10 Beauty Products Our Editors Can’t Get Enough Of This Month: June 2022

What we’re loving, coveting and “borrowing” from the Gritty Pretty beauty cupboard this month.

Danielle Gay

Beauty Director & Executive Editor

“I had the pleasure of trialling this fragrance for a week for an upcoming story (you can read it here soon on GrittyPretty.com.au) and, spoiler alert—I loved it. Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Noir Rose EDP is a floral fragrance with a twist: a heart of musc and rich leather suede accords give it a depth that turns heads.”

Sue Hoffman

Strategic Partnerships Manager

“While it is a little bit more on the expensive side, the results after using the Kerastase Elixir Ultime Beautifying Hair Oil are well worth the investment. For me (someone who has very thick hard-to-smooth hair) this product is a godsend. Not only was it super easy to use but you can also apply it to damp or dried hair–which means you don’t have to think about it too hard! Smooth and swishy hair, I just loved it!”

Rose Garnett

Beauty Editor

“Who doesn’t want a bit more nourishment in their day? With Esmi Skin Minerals’s new Nourishing Moisturiser, I was able to deeply hydrate my skin with ease. Infused with 24k gold flakes (yep, I know), this moisture-boosting formula left my skin feeling soft and supple without any greasiness. I also loved that it came with a little paddle to scoop the product out with, keeping everything very sanitary!”

Sarah Daly

Art Director

“The Biologi Anti-Pollution Serum was very new for me! My usual face serums are day/night or night only however this is a hard working day time only serum. Promising to be the ultimate protector from daily environmental pollutants, this was ideal now that my visits to the city are becoming more frequent. The texture is not watery, not oily but a unique mix of both. My biggest tip is to follow the instructions–one pump only for the face, which, for a heavy-handed product user like myself, was a learning curve!”

Hannah Brooks

Junior Designer

“Talk about a smooth canvas! This primer is the best I have come across so far. Soft, glassy and my makeup loves it too. Don’t even get me started on the deluxe packaging. The YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer (Gold) glides on silky smooth. It claims to blur pores and even skin tone–and that it does! This will be a constant in my cart.”

Eleanor Pendleton

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

“Introducing Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil–the lightest face oil I feel comfortable wearing in the morning under makeup (feels as fresh as water, has the power of a serum and nourishes as deeply as an oil). Need I say more?”

Stacey Stageman

Producer

L’Ecahppee Sauvage Parfum by Voyages Imaginaires, a scent that draws you in. I found myself holding my wrist to my nose on multiple occasions throughout the day, in an attempt to uncover the mysteriousness of this fragrance. At first, I wasn’t sure if this one was for me. The sweet, creaminess of the wild fig was almost too rich for my usual liking but then I was splashed with the coolness of bergamot and lemon and the warming yet masculine notes of cedar and gaic woods. One to dazzle the senses, this fragrance definitely kept me on my toes.”

Nicola Sevitt

Special Projects Producer

“Unlike 80 per cent of my Instagram feed, sadly I won’t be jet-setting to Europe anytime soon. While I can’t physically travel, Oribe’s Cote D’Azur Body Wash has been a godsend as it’s been whisking me away to the Mediterranean (momentarily) while in the shower. A girl can dream, right? This body wash smells luxuriously divine on the skin and leaves your body feeling beautifully moisturised and nourished.”

Naomi Ferreira

Partnerships & Editorial Coordinator

“For anyone dreading the winter solstice, I have good news: you can still ‘summon the sunlight with a flash of golden bronze’ with Bare Minerals Mineralist Sunlit Eyeshadow Palette. Made up of nuanced neutrals that are as interchangeable as your black and white wardrobe staple pieces, the buttery, shimmery and not at all crepey or cakey hues are wearable from office to nightcap. A quick swipe on the lid is all you need to create natural-looking depth. It’s long-lasting (tried and tested on these oily lids) and an easy addition for those ‘I don’t have time…it’s too cold to wake up’ mornings.”

Eliza Hynd

Head of Partnerships

“As the bottle states, the Cloud Nine Magical Remedy Split End Cream really is a ‘magical remedy’. I’ve been religiously applying this to my hair after every wash for a month now and my hair feels so silky and healthy. The cream smells delightful, is non-greasy and conditions and detangles my locks just like an intense hair mask would. A little product goes a long way too. I apply it to my wet hair, comb it through and then blow dry. For just $50, I am obsessed. 10/10 would recommend!”
