Vanity Affairs: Sarah Ellen On Embracing Your Flaws And The Ingestible Beauty Product She Swears By

Warning: reading on may cause spending of excessive funds on really good beauty products.

Welcome to Vanity Affairs—a series where we document the beauty routines of notable people.

There are some people who have an I-can’t-put-my-finger-on-it kind of glow—a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will. You know the ones—their hair falls just right, their skin is dewy but never shiny, and they seem to exude confidence.

In the interest of public service, we’ve set about tracking down these actors, influencers, models, founders, entrepreneurs, musicians, spokespeople (and more!!) to find out their secrets. Have you got your pen and paper ready?

Previously, we’ve spoken to Rozalia Russian, Lara Fells, Jules Sebastian, Georgia Fowler, Jonathan Van Ness and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Today, we’re taking a peek inside the beauty bag of fashion influencer-turned-artist, Sarah Ellen.

A real industry veteran (at the ripe age of just 25), Ellen is best known for her international modelling portfolio and her incredible sense of style. So much so, that she has amassed close to 800,000 followers on Instagram. But it’s her recent foray into art and homewares that is particularly exciting for the young entrepreneur and why we couldn’t wait to sit down with her to raid her beauty cabinet.

Here, she shares her simple but effective beauty routine (and spills a few confidence tips).

Wellness

“My beauty philosophy has always been consistency. It all radiates from within, physically and mentally. If you’re feeling good on the inside, you’re most likely looking good on the outside. I love starting the day by either drinking a green juice or a coffee next to the ocean. My favourite Vida Glow Marine Collagen is always part of my morning routine. Growing up in Australia, I have an innate connection with the ocean and starting my day next to the ocean always seems to put all my worries into perspective.”

Skin

“I’m a big believer that the key to confidence is finding your insecurities and making them the most beautiful thing about you. My skincare routine is super simple. I just rinse my skin with water and then always apply the Advanced Génifique Serum by Lancôme. I have been loyal to this product for years.”

Hair

“I always try to use as little heat as possible on my hair to avoid any heat damage and breakage. So, I am a big fan of air drying and have found that it has increased my hair strength immensely, as well as incorporating nourishing leave-in treatments. I have also found that the Vida Glow Natural Marine Collagen powder has also been amazing in terms of strengthening my hair on a cellular level.”

Makeup

“On an everyday basis, I like to keep it pretty simple on the makeup front. Generally I just pop on a little of the Ere Perez Arnica Concealer, which is a great natural beauty product. Other than that, I really like to let my skin do the talking.”
