Vanity Affairs: Jules Sebastian’s Simple (But Effective!) Beauty Routine

The Olay Ambassador divulges all her beauty secrets.

Welcome to Vanity Affairs—a series where we document the beauty routines of notable people.

There are some people who have an I-can’t-put-my-finger-on-it kind of glow—a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will. You know the ones—their hair falls just right, their skin is dewy but never shiny, and they seem to exude confidence.

In the interest of public service, we’ve set about tracking down these actors, influencers, models, founders, entrepreneurs, musicians, spokespeople (and more!!) to find out their secrets. Have you got your pen and paper ready?

Previously, we’ve spoken to Georgia Fowler, Jonathan Van Ness and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Today, we’re going inside the beauty cabinet of author and beauty junkie, Jules Sebastian.

The ultimate slashie (author/ ambassador/ TikToker/ mother/ wife/ dog mum), Sebastian is one very busy woman. Whether it’s supporting her songbird husband, writing her debut book, Tea & Honesty, or running after her two kids and their adorable puppy Ronnie (check out her Instagram highlight of him, here, and thank us later), Sebastian seems to be on the go 100 per cent of the time.

So, it came as no surprise that the Sydney-local would align herself with iconic Australian skincare brand, Olay. An advocate of simple beauty routines that work, the relationship truly is a match made in heaven.

Here, Sebastian shares every single product she uses on a daily basis to keep her feeling confident.

“Since my time for a skincare routine is generally around the two minute mark (and often takes place in between putting shoes on the boys or wrangling a puppy), I keep it simple. I begin by cleansing my skin and then pop on Olay’s Vitamin C Super Serum. I love this because it helps reduce my tired spots and really brightens my skin. I also love that it evens out my skin tone and is also super moisturising. Basically, it does everything I need a wake-me-up serum to do! I will then throw on a moisturiser—at the moment I’m loving the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream—and then I am out the door. Two minutes tops!”

“I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to my daily makeup routine. I usually reach for a light foundation first. My favourite is the MCoBeauty Ultra Stay Flawless Foundation. I will then go in with some bronzer and then some mascara to make my eyes appear more open. My favourites are the Lancome Hypnose Mascara or the L’Oreal Lash Paradise. Then it’s a quick brow moment (using my trusty ModelCo Micro Brows Super Fine Liner) and some Lucas’ Pawpaw Ointment on my lips.”

“Like my skincare and makeup, I like to keep the hair simple. After I wash, I’ll spray some of the Biolage All-In-One Coconut Infusion Spray in my hair to give it a bit of extra love. Then I’ll dry it, give it a quick curl with my ghd Soft Curl Tong and add in some Evo Salty Dog Sea Salt Texture Spray before I head straight out the door.”

“I am definitely not one of those women who has found her signature scent. In fact, I actually have a cupboard full of fragrances! For me, it is so dependent on the day or occasion that I’m heading to. For everyday I would go for something light and fruity and then for the evening I go for something a little more sophisticated. To be specific, Editions de Parfums By Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady is my evening scent.”
