Vanity Affairs: Lara Fells Of St. Agni Shares Her Super Simple Beauty Routine
Warning: reading on may cause spending of excessive funds on really good beauty products.
Welcome to Vanity Affairs—a series where we document the beauty routines of notable people.
There are some people who have an I-can’t-put-my-finger-on-it kind of glow—a certain je ne sais quoi, if you will. You know the ones—their hair falls just right, their skin is dewy but never shiny, and they seem to exude confidence.
In the interest of public service, we’ve set about tracking down these actors, influencers, models, founders, entrepreneurs, musicians, spokespeople (and more!!) to find out their secrets. Have you got your pen and paper ready?
Today, we’re going deep into the beauty routine of Lara Fells, the stylish founder of Australian fashion label St. Agni.
Fells co-founded her Byron Bay-based womenswear label St. Agni with her husband, Matt Fells. The brand started out as a shoe label (who doesn’t have a pair of its cults leather woven sandals?) and has since evolved into a complete ready-to-wear offering with global notoriety.
St. Agni is known for its simple and sustainable clothing, so it’s no wonder Fells’s beauty routine is much the same! Here, she shares every single product she uses in her daily beauty routine.
“My day usually starts with my son Jude running into our room and jumping in between my husband Matt and I—that’s if he’s not already in between us from the night before. We sleep with the curtains open, meaning the morning sun beams into our bedroom. Our home backs onto a jungle-like reserve, so our bedroom window looks out to the trees. Once we’re all awake we jump into the shower, usually all together, followed by breakfast and coffee.
I keep things pretty simple and rinse my face with water in the shower and then once I’m dry it’s all about hydration for me. At the moment I’m really loving Moon Juice’s Plump Jelly Hydrating Serum. It’s vegan and free of sulphates, parabens and alcohol. It helps to brighten my skin and keep it feeling fresh throughout the day. I follow with Origins Ginzing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturiser. This is also super hydrating and good for boosting radiance.
I always try to take some time for myself in the evening to take my make-up off and do a little skincare routine. I have recently been introduced to Face Halo Face Wipes, I use one each night to clean my face—I just use the wipe and water, then you can just pop them in the wash and reuse them, it’s the best thing.
Then I re-apply Moon Juice Plump Jelly Hydrating Serum, followed by Lesse’s Ritual Serum, and I usually massage this serum in with a gua sha. I love that it contains rosehip and is lightweight for overnight.”
“I prefer a natural make-up look. I don’t really wear foundation, however I couldn’t leave the house without concealer. At the moment I’m using Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer and Daytime Eye Cream. It’s great for brightening the under eye area or covering the occasional spot. I then use Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder over my whole face to give my skin a soft glow, and then depending on how I’m feeling I might add some bronzer to my forehead and cheeks—at the moment Kosas The Sun Show Moisturizing Baked Bronzer.”
“I really love Living Proof No-Frizz Instant De-Frizzer, it’s a game changer, great for flyaways and has a refreshing scent too.”
“I use Sans Ceuticals Activator 7 Body, Hair & Face Oil. I make sure I apply a layer all over my body each morning.”
