Review: Why We’re Obsessed With This Lip-To-Cheek Tint

When it comes to sustainability in beauty, it can be overwhelming knowing where to start. From packaging to ingredients, as well as how the brand itself operates… how do you shop sustainably and ensure your beauty routine isn’t negatively impacting the planet? Choosing to shop from a brand like Inika Organic, which is 100% natural, certified organic, plastic neutral, as well as vegan and cruelty-free takes the guesswork out of the equation. Australian brand Inika Organic has a following for its certified organic skincare and makeup range—plus the products really work.
Inika Organic’s tagline is ‘Pure with Purpose’ and everything the brand does is incredibly thoughtful. When Gritty Pretty’s beauty editors were given the chance to trial the range, we opted to review a multi-use product—the Inika Organic Lip & Cheek Cream—because what’s more sustainable than a product that can do it all?

The Sell: Inika Organic Lip & Cheek Cream, is “a multi-use cream for cheeks, lips and eyes, to create a healthy, flushed look” (according to the brand’s website).
The Price: $49 (RRP).
The Review:
This is my new go-to blush, lip and eyeshadow. The product is a silky-soft cream texture that comes in a little pot. I love a good multi-use product and this one is my new favourite.
It’s super easy to use: using my ring finger, I simply apply the product to my cheeks, dabbing on the highest point to create a flush of colour. Then, I add a touch of Inika Organic’s Radiant Glow Veil for extra illumination.
When applying to lips, I use my ring finger too, blurring the product across my pout without paying too much attention to it being “perfect”. Since the formula is a light coverage, you can’t go too wrong—I love the undone result from applying it this way.
While trialling the Inika Organic Lip & Cheek Cream, I’ve also been applying a swipe to each eyelid, which ties the look together.

What I love about this product is it’s formulated with sweet almond oil, which is super hydrating, meaning the product glides straight on. Almond oil is also rich in vitamin E, which is a bonus, since this ingredient helps to smooth out the complexion. It also uses carnauba wax, which is hypoallergenic and helps to give the cream that beautiful satin consistency. This means there’s zero product caking or colour transfer and it seamlessly blends into the skin.
Inika Organic is certified plastic neutral, meaning they consciously measure, reduce and offset their plastic use, and this particular product is housed in sustainable aluminium and glass packaging. The little pot is also handy for popping into your handbag for touch-ups on-the-go.
Inika Organic Lip & Cheek Cream comes in three shades—Morning (an apricot hue), Petals (the perfect deep pink), and Dusk (a touch of pink-coral). The mineral pigments used to create the colourways (yes, the product is 100% pure and natural) mean it’s good for your skin and the planet.
