The 5 CHANEL Beauty Buys Our Editor Won’t Live Without
To celebrate the launch of the official CHANEL Fragrance & Beauty Online Boutique in Australia, our editor shares her picks.
CHANEL Beauty has a new home—you can now top up on No.5 or purchase your favourite shade of Rouge Coco Baume directly from CHANEL’s e-commerce site. While we love spending an afternoon drifting around the beauty counters at David Jones or Myer, being able to shop our CHANEL must-haves directly at chanel.com/au is definitely a game-changer.
To celebrate the launch of the online boutique, I’m sharing my top five editor-approved CHANEL beauty buys. You might want to write this down…
CHANEL Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint, $110
Shop now
One of my favourite foundations of all time. This water-fresh tint uses some sort of CHANEL magic (microfluidic technology) to create the ultimate healthy-glow foundation. Even if you haven’t had the pleasure of trialling it, you’ll probably recognise the bottle and those tiny micro-droplets which are suspended within. These micro-droplets contain pigments which melt into the skin on contact. It’s incredibly lightweight, since it’s composed of 75% water (hence the name), however upon application, the water is mixed with the pigment for surprisingly good coverage that lasts all day—and looks natural and glowy. I use the shade Medium-Light.
CHANEL N°1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Cream, $175
Shop now
A mainstay in my skincare regimen, the N°1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Cream has the perfect silky-smooth texture which leaves my skin feeling hydrated and plump. It uses the range’s hero ingredient, the red camellia, which is known for its revitalising powers, so it’s able to restore the complexion. Like any CHANEL Beauty product, using it is a sensorial experience (the texture! The fragrance! The way it looks on my top shelf!), and I love that it’s housed in refillable, eco-designed packaging. Oh, and if like me, your skin can get incredibly dry, it now comes in a Rich formula.
CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream, $91
Shop now
This bronzer is so good I would consider it a CHANEL House icon. While sadly, I don’t make the rules, I can at least attest to this: if you know, you know. This bronzer is a beauty editor favourite across the globe for its lightweight and easy-to-blend cream-gel consistency. It’s buildable and offers the perfect sun-kissed finish. Beauty editors also love it for its generously-sized jar (seriously, it’s huge), which makes it a breeze to apply. I use the shade Soleil Tan Bronze.
CHANEL Les Exclusifs de CHANEL Eau de Parfum in Bois Des Iles, $580
Shop now
While I always have a bottle of CHANEL N°5 on hand, the CHANEL Les Exclusifs de CHANEL Eau de Parfum in the scent Bois Des Iles is my go-to for special occasions. Bois Des Iles has a sensual and spicy accord, using hardy notes of sandalwood, ylang-ylang and tonka bean. Inspired by the “Bœuf sur le Toit” cabaret which opened in Paris during the Roaring Twenties, it taps into the era’s smoky, Bohemian atmosphere. You can discover your own Les Exclusifs de CHANEL perfect match here.
CHANEL Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick, $71
Shop now
Never has a beauty product sparked as much joy for me as CHANEL’s Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick. Found in every makeup artist’s kit since the dawn of time, Baume Essentiel is a unique highlighting balm which instantly upgrades your beauty look. Designed to melt onto the skin and reflect light, it can be used on the face, lips and eyes. I use the shade Sculpting but TikTok is currently obsessed with the Transparent shade.
