The fine jewellery house has announced a brand new era, with model Miranda Kerr as ambassador.

When it comes to brand glow-ups, Michael Hill is leading the way: the beloved fine jewellery house has embarked on a global rebrand and enlisted none other than Miranda Kerr as an ambassador to mark the new era.

“I am thrilled to be the Michael Hill ambassador,” international model (and Gritty Pretty cover star!) Miranda Kerr said of the announcement made this week. “This partnership is so special to me because one of my first photoshoots in my career was with Michael Hill over 20 years ago. I’m proud to support Michael Hill in the next chapter of its journey, just like they supported me all those years ago.”

The appointment of Miranda Kerr as Michael Hill’s first ambassador is part of an exciting rebrand which includes a bold new logo, an edgy colour palette, and stores that are so chic, you’ll never want to leave. The updated brand identity will usher in a contemporary new era for Michael Hill and comes as the stalwart brand gets ready to celebrate its 45th birthday.

“This next chapter in the brand is super exciting as they continue to create beautiful, sentimental jewellery that captures the meaningful moments,” adds Kerr. “I love the campaign and the brand’s new elevated direction.”

While we Australians often claim the brand as our own, the Michael Hill story actually began in a small town in New Zealand, where namesake founder Sir Michael Hill turned his craft into a global jewellery label. The brand’s strong heritage is featured throughout the refresh: the new colour palette is reminiscent of the lush green landscapes of New Zealand; while the updated logo makes use of a local typography font, intertwining the monogram of M and H.

“The soft palette of all the colours from the beaches we would go to in New Zealand, the trees, the moss, the grass, have all been married in,” Sir Michael Hill said of his  personal connection to the new look.

It’s not only an aesthetic change either: in case you missed it, Michael Hill recently announced the launch of the Michael Hill Foundation, a part of the brand’s commitment to its 2030 sustainability goals. This not-for-profit foundation will focus efforts on two main areas: empowering women and restoring nature. The brand sets out to achieve these targets by donating a proportion of sales on selected jewellery pieces to chosen charity partners: Dress for Success, The Period Purse, One Tree Planted, Women’s Refuge and Collective Good Foundation. This builds on some of the new sustainable initiatives the brand introduced last year, including its Re:Cycle Program, which you can read more about here

All the while, Michael Hill continues to help us mark life’s most meaningful moments with stunning jewellery made to last a lifetime—the only difference? It just got even cooler.
