Inside The Exclusive Gritty Pretty x Georg Jensen The Art Of Style Event

by ROSE GARNETT - In partnership with Georg Jensen

A night of decadence and details…

Celebrating artistic form, sculptural shapes and expert craftsmanship, The Art Of Style event with Gritty Pretty and Georg Jensen was a night to remember. An intimate dinner that hosted content creators, artists, fashion curators and beauty experts, the decadent meal by chef Joel Bennetts was perfectly embellished by bespoke beverages and perfectly matched wines by sommelier Mem Hemmings.

Set in a minimalist Paddington terrace home that featured city views and a show-stopping rooftop overlooking the chic tablescape, the evening was topped off by special guest, artist Amanda Shadforth’s, incredible artwork that was commissioned by Georg Jensen.

Unveiling the stunning piece during the dinner, Shadforth touched on her inspiration and how the organic shapes of Georg Jensen jewellery were the cornerstone of her work. “The silver pieces reflected white in my studio during the day but when the sun was setting in the late afternoon, they would reflect almost a dark grey shade,” she told the guests. “That’s how I came up with the colours for this piece.”

Working across a multitude of mediums–from macro pieces using trowels to detailed work using tiny brushes–Shadforth’s artistic eye is incredibly unique. An extension of her paradoxical personal style (she loves to combine masculine shapes with feminine accents), there was no one better to encapsulate the art of style.

Topped off with an incredible performance by violinist Yena Choi, the evening was nothing short of magical. Here, you’re invited to take a look inside…
