A wedding is the perfect excuse to splurge on your skin, but we get that it can be overwhelming. There’s a lot of treatments and not a lot of time. That’s why Gritty Pretty’s introduced Bridal Beauty, our new section dedicated to word-of-mouth bridal beauty tips from those in the know.
We’re kicking things off with Sydney-based fashion stylist & creative director, Jessica Pecoraro, whose work has appeared in Women’s Fitness, YEN and here on Gritty Pretty. Pecoraro married her tradesman partner, Steven, of then-seven years, at their beautiful destination wedding in her native, Sicily.
MY WEDDING SKIN PREP…
“I’m fortunate to have quite healthy skin, yet stress and diet do affect it skin so about 3 months before the wedding I did try to cut out refined sugars and alcohol. I was also in Europe 2 weeks before the wedding which definitely helped getting my skin looking super fresh, nothing beats the Mediterranean sea and sun.”
MY SKINCARE REGIME…
“My Skincare regime is extremely easy and I didn’t change anything on the big day. Swim in the ocean first up, followed by a cleanse with Bioderma Micellar Water and well-moisturised skin with La Mer The Soft Cream Moisturiser.”
I WOULD CHANGE…
“I would probably get a few facials in the lead up just for some down time.”
MY WEDDING INSPIRATION…
“I found most of my inspiration via fashion runways and also other celebrity weddings; my favourite was Margherita Missoni’s.”
MY MAKEUP ARTIST…
“Desiree Wise a Sydney-based Makeup Artist did my make up. We didn’t have a trial before which most people thought I was crazy not to get but I trusted her and knew she would do something I loved. I wanted to look like I had makeup on yet not over the top. We referenced a few Dolce and Gabbana shows as well for the makeup.”
MY HAIR STYLIST…
“Desiree also did my hair on the day. I had Nerida Winter-custom floral head piece which Desiree incorporated in a braid at the back and along the front. Once again Dolce and Gabbana was a great reference.”
THE LIPSTICK…
“Lips were very natural, I used a Lanolips Ointment in shade Dark Honey.”
THE FRAGRANCE…
“I wore Giorgio Armani ‘SI’ and Steven wore Christian Dior ‘Savage’.”
