The Best Beauty Street Style Looks From Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2023

The industry insiders show us how it’s done…

There’s nothing quite like glorious Autumnal sunshine to inspire some killer beauty looks. And so the story went at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week. Whether it was a blunt bob or a barely there makeup look elevated by a perfectly peachy pout, beauty was the ultimate accessory for the industry who’s-who.

With models, influencers, celebrities and editors all hitting the concrete at Carriageworks with a newfound passion for creativity and joy in the fashion industry, it seemed only natural that the beauty looks were just as inspired. Here, we roundup the best beauty street style looks from each day so you, too, can leave the house ready for the front row.

Day 1

Perfectly imperfect hair and fresh skin took centre stage on day one, letting the bold prints and rich colours of the day one outfits do all the talking.

Model and influencer Victoria Burns kept it cool with her blunt bob tucked effortlessly behind her ears while fashion darling Lisa Danielle was the poster girl for soft, peachy glam. Supermodel and Gritty Pretty Magazine cover star Samantha Harris looked fresh faced and effortless while influencer Laura Burns rocked the twisted bun making for the ultimate cool-girl beauty look. We also can’t get enough of Nat Buchanan’s afro taking centre stage in her beauty look.

Day 2

If you weren’t wearing an updo on Day 2, you were doing it wrong! Letting the back of the outfit do all the talking, the fashionistas opted for buns, braids and ponytails to keep their tresses tamed.

Model Dominique Elissa kept her skin fresh and let her bold pink dress do all the talking with a subtle nude lip while journalist and influencer Kate Waterhouse knotted her strands into an effortless low bun outside the Aje show. Influencer Jessica Vander Leahy chose to pull her hair into a low ponytail while model Montana Cox made a case for the ultra-chic curtain fringe. We also loved the hair accessories on show. ICYMI: ribbons are all the rage right now.

Day 3

It was all about fresh, glowing skin as the sun came out on Day 3. A touch of colour on the cheeks and a perfect nude lip and you were doing beauty right.

Artist Sarah Ellen kept her beauty look simple to let her double denim ensemble do all the talking while influencers Laura Dewit and Harmony Butcher both opted for an updo and ‘90s brown lip to complement their monochromatic looks. Presenter Erin Holland kept it classic with undone waves while influencer Gabby Sullivan went for a pulled back knot to let her statement earrings do all the talking. We couldn’t go past TV presenter Francesca Hung’s ultra-voluminous, Pamela Anderson-esque updo, though. Consider it pinned to our inspiration board.

Day 4

Day 4 was all about experimenting with fun hairstyles. Whether it was adding contrasting extensions or embracing an uber-low ponytail, Carriageworks was overflowing with hair inspiration.

Influencer and model Mimie Elashiry went bold and added extra long, blonde extensions to her brunette braid to make for an intriguing contrast while model Sarah Stephens embraced her natural waves and added a monochromatic wash of coral on her cheeks and lips. We also loved the ultra-low ponytail held in place by a chrome clip and the bleach blonde buzz cut that accentuated a beautiful pair of earrings.
