…and Gritty Pretty is the Official Hair and Beauty Media Partner! A week dedicated to celebrating some of Australia’s most successful designers and showcasing the talent of the future, the festival (lovingly nicknamed MFF) is a chance for consumers to immerse themselves in the fashion and beauty industry like they’ve never been able to before.
With workshops, exhibitions, performances, runways and screenings, there is something for everyone and an opportunity around every corner to channel creativity like never before. Whether you’ve been looking for the perfect girls night out opportunity or want to get artsy for a date night that is out of the ordinary, the MFF is the perfect place to indulge your fashion and beauty senses in 2023.
Plus, Gritty Pretty will also officially be presenting the Urban Oasis runway which celebrates the leading and emerging First Nations designers alongside established and renegade street and conceptual designers to showcase a curation of leading Australian talent. The show will incorporate notions of identity, social enterprise, politics, upcycling and customisation and marks the exciting debut for some of Australia’s best emerging designers while celebrating the mainstays who continue to make their mark.
We also can’t go past the Future/History exhibition. Partnering with Melbourne Fashion Festival and Mob In Fashion, the Melbourne Museum presents this exclusive exhibition that showcases three collections by locally and internationally recognised First Nations designers including Lillardia Briggs-Houston, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins and Cassie Leatham.
