Inside The First-Ever Gritty Pretty House Of Beauty

We’ll be moving in…

On Saturday September 24, Gritty Pretty hosted our first-ever House of Beauty in Sydney–and to say it was a day to remember is a gross understatement. With four of the best skincare and hair care brands taking over a heritage-listed mansion in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the day was overflowing with expertise, really good beauty products and, of course, Pommery champagne to add a little sparkle.

Guests were greeted by our wonderful founder and editor-in-chief, Eleanor Pendleton, while they enjoyed a Gritty Pretty coffee (or two) before heading into the incredible House of Beauty. First cab off the rank was the FOREO room, where guests were educated by the incredible FOREO team all about what makes these beauty tech devices so special (and how to use them properly in your routines). With demonstrations and experts around every corner to answer the hard hitting questions, guests were also able to purchase a device on the spot so there was no waiting around for ultra-toned or perfectly cleansed skin.

Making their way into the glorious garden, the guests then headed to The Jojoba Company where they were greeted by founder Vicki Engsall. Speaking to how she built a successful skincare brand and what makes jojoba, as an ingredient, so unique, Engsall was a natural at engaging guests and giving them invaluable tips and tricks to up their skincare game.

Next up was hair. And who better to quiz about all things hair care than the experts at Redken? Inside the Redken room, guests were spoiled with a hair styling demonstration inspired by the latest runway trends and treated to a side of myth-busting. Did you know that you’re meant to go to the hairdresser with clean hair? Neither did we. Guests were also able to touch up their own manes with the Redken styling stations. No wonder everyone was looking so glam all day long!

The final stop on the House of Beauty train took us to the grand ballroom where guests were treated to all things Elizabeth Arden. Starting with a Q&A hosted by beauty director & executive editor, Danielle Gay, and beauty editor, Rose Garnett, with the brand’s National Education Manager Nica Marcello, the guests were educated on all things ceramides and why they are so important in our skincare routines. They were then able to get up close and personal with the iconic Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules and try them out for themselves.

In between the glasses of Pommery champagne, incredible canapes, tarot card reading and amazing musical performances, our guests couldn’t leave without getting their hands on the insane (if we do say so ourselves) gift bag. Filled to the brim with beauty products from brands such as Redken, Elizabeth Arden, The Jojoba Company, FOREO, Seashanty, Jeuneora and Embryolisse as well as lifestyle treats from The Daily Edited and An Organised Life, it was certainly something to write home about.

An unforgettable day spent with our readers, we can’t wait to see more of you there next year!
