Inside Gritty Pretty’s House Of Beauty 2023
This is what (beauty) dreams are made of…
On Friday October 20, Gritty Pretty hosted our annual House Of Beauty in Sydney—and to say it was a day to remember would be a gross understatement. With nine beauty brands filling one of Sydney’s most coveted homes, the day was overflowing with expertise, really good beauty products and, of course, champagne and canapes a-plenty to ensure it was luxury from all angles.
Upon arrival, guests were greeted by Gritty Pretty founder and publisher, Eleanor Pendleton (and her gorgeous daughter Rumi!), and editor, Danielle Gay, before heading into the sunlit room bursting with beauty. Elizabeth Arden was sitting pretty on the balcony overlooking the harbour with the brand’s newest launch—the Retinol + HPR Ceramide Rapid Skin-Renewing Water Cream—front and centre. Danielle Gay (editor) and Rose Garnett (beauty editor) also sat down with Elizabeth Arden’s National Education Manager, Nica Marcello, to learn all about integrating vitamin A into your skincare routine.
Guests then made their way to Dermalogica to learn all about the brand’s Phyto Oxygen Cream. Launched in March 2023, guests discovered at the brand’s Q&A that it is already the second best-selling product in the brand’s lineup and has won countless awards. But what about hair? Whether they needed a little touch up or just wanted to know about the iconic Dyson Airwrap, guests couldn’t resist spending time at the Dyson stand. They also had the pleasure of discovering tips and tricks from Dyson’s Global Styling Ambassador and celebrity hair stylist, Pete Thomsen.
And it wouldn’t be a House Of Beauty event without a new kid on the block. Learning all about Mx Skincare in the brand’s corner (and followed by an incredible information session with ambassador and celebrity facialist, Ingrid Seaburn), guests were able to get acquainted with the hardworking (and affordable!) formulas in their own time. But guess what? This was just level one!

Heading downstairs, guests had even more beauty at their fingertips (we know, how is that even possible?). Whether it was getting shade matched with Revlon, learning about cleansing rituals with Dr Lewinn’s, understanding the connection between ingredients and efficacy with Ikkari, finding their new signature scent with Cosmax Prestige or stocking up on their makeup favourites with Napoleon Perdis, there truly was something for everyone. With Pommery champagne, OneToOne wines and San Pellegrino flowing and Circa scenting the entire space, we didn’t want the day to end.
But, of course, it had to—and this was made sweeter with the goodie bag that all guests took home at the end (which was worth over $700!). Filled with the likes of Elizabeth Arden, Dermalogica, Dyson, Mx Skincare, Revlon, Ikkari, Dr Lewinn’s, Cosmax, Napoleon Perdis, James Cosmetics, Benefit, The Ordinary, Circa, Clemence Organics, Outside Beauty, Contour Clinics, Go-To and Remedy Drinks products, it truly was the cherry on top of an amazing day.
An unforgettable day spent with media, influencers and readers alike, we can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Thank you to our 2023 partners: Elizabeth Arden, Dyson, Dermalogica, Mx Skincare, Ikkari, Revlon, Dr Lewinn’s, Cosmax Prestige and Napoleon Perdis.
