Do You Want To Work For Gritty Pretty?

We’re hiring!

We are thrilled to announce Gritty Pretty’s involvement in The Encoreship for 2022,  a return-to-work program led by beauty brand Alpha- H, supporting women who have been out of work for an extended period by providing them with new work experience and connections.

We know that in 2021, 61% of job losses in Australia were experienced by women. When applying for jobs, women with children are less likely to receive a callback than women who hold the same qualifications and experiences but did not have children and only 32% of mothers feel the confidence to re-enter the workforce. The Encoreship is here to support women, by offering a 3-month paid placement to women who have been out of the workforce and are ready to return.

“As a mother myself, I know firsthand how challenging the return to work can be,” says Gritty Pretty founder and editor-in-chief, Eleanor Pendleton. “I have also witnessed firsthand close friends and family members really struggle with returning to work after an extended period of time. There is no denying there is a real knock to one’s confidence after an extended time out of the workforce. I want these parents, mothers in particular, to realise their full potential and capability.”

As part of the partnership, which also involves brands like Shona Joy, DISSH, and Adore Beauty, Gritty Pretty will be hiring a Directory Client Manager to manage and grow our salon directory business—what our readers will know as our Little Black Book of Beauty

“At Gritty Pretty, we’re a female-founded, female-led company and when I learned of The Encoreship spearheaded by Alpha-H, I contacted them as I knew I wanted to be involved in some form,” says Pendleton. “I’m proud to own a beauty media company that fully supports women—especially working parents—and so we created a part-time role, which could be the perfect returnship for one successful candidate.”

The role will be 2-3 days per week and the Directory Client Manager (DCM) will be responsible for managing Gritty Pretty’s existing beauty business and salon clients as well as generating new business. If you love sales—and, of course, beauty!—and are eager to return to the workforce, this might be the perfect role for you.

“As a female business owner, I feel it’s my obligation to provide employment to all of my staff that supports them in all different stages of their life,” adds Pendleton. “We’re really excited to be recruiting a Directory Client Manager to join the Gritty Pretty team!”
