7 Beauty Resolutions To Make In 2023

Yes, these ones are easy to stick to.

And just like that, we’re in 2023. Is it just us or are the years flying by at the rate of knots? If nothing else, this should be inspiring us all to live life to the fullest and spend time with the people we love in the places we love as much as we can.

But, of course, with a fresh 365 days to play with, there is a whole new set of goals that we hope to achieve. Whether personal or professional, a new year is the perfect time to reevaluate your priorities and understand exactly what you want to get out of a brand new 12 months. Well, the same goes for beauty.

As the holiday season comes to an end and the copious amounts of champagne have (finally) caught up with us, it comes as no surprise that we could be dealing with a few beauty woes courtesy of two months of a little too much fun. Not to worry, a new year is also the perfect time to set beauty resolutions to ensure your 2023 is filled with good skin days and great hair moments.

Here, we roundup the seven beauty resolutions we’re committing to this year (and the ones we think you should add to your list, too).

beauty resolutions

1. Prioritise Scalp Care

ICYMI: 2022 was the year of hair. And scalp care was one new category that came up a lot. Feared to be a beauty fad at first, we are here to confirm that proper scalp care is, in fact, the secret to healthy, luscious and shiny locks all year round. Our recommendation? Opt for a luxurious scalp oil in your routine and watch the results appear before your eyes.

2. Add Ceramides Into Your Skincare Routine

We know that we’ve harped on and on about ceramides in the last 12 months, but we can confirm that this hero skincare ingredient is here to stay. Perfect for supporting a healthy skin barrier (read: irritation and inflammation are kept to a minimum) and ensuring the skin remains hydrated and nourished, adding ceramides into your regimen will pay serious skin dividends over the next 365 days. Thank us this time next year.

3. Commit To A Quarterly Trim

It doesn’t matter if 2023 is the year that you want to grow your bob into a glorious mane down to your waist, committing to a quarterly hair trim is a non-negotiable for hair health. Plus, with regular trims, split ends are minimised which reduces breakage, snapping and hair thinning. Basically, everything you don’t want when it comes to your hair. 4. Up The Body Care Ante

Don’t neglect the neck down, people! Body care is just as important as caring for the skin on your face. So, if you commit to nothing else this year, please commit to applying body lotion daily. Not only will it ensure your limbs are glowing and hydrated all year round but it will also help to reduce irritation, the impact of environmental aggressors and help to maintain a youthful complexion.

5. Complete Your Nail Care Wardrobe

If you were monitoring the beauty trends as closely as we were in 2022, then you would be well-acquainted with the nail art phenomenon. But all great art starts with the perfect canvas, so we think 2023 is the year of repairing and caring for your precious nails (in between incredible nail art weeks, of course). Whether it’s adding a cuticle oil to your morning routine or layering on a bond builder between appointments, nail care is going nowhere.

6. Keep The Brows Happy

Now that we’re living in a post-bleached brow world, it’s time to prioritise bringing the brows back from the brink. We’re talking about applying a nourishing brow serum as part of your everyday skincare routine. Is it an added step? Sure. But the brows frame the face and we are nothing (not literally, we’re just dramatic) if we don’t have perfect brows every single day.

7. Do The Night Shift

In 2023, we’re taking a leaf out of our mother’s books and upping the night time routine. Beyond nailing a skincare routine that will do all the hard yards while we catch some serious zs, we think it’s about time we committed to applying hand cream before hitting the hay and an overnight hair serum before we float on cloud nine. A holistic approach to the night time routine is giving big I-have-my-life-together energy for the rest of the year.
