We can’t tell you how many times that line has been heard in the Gritty Pretty office or sent as a single line SMS/email. It’s basically become war cry and favourite motto heading into deadlines, shoots or when faced with a (first-world) problem that seems a bit too big for one person. We’re big on working as a team here.

But we’re growing. Fast. Gritty Pretty is now looking for more hands on deck in the editorial department. Could you be our next superstar intern?

EDITORIAL INTERN

Reporting to the beauty editor, Gritty Pretty’s editorial intern will help out 1-2 days a week (unpaid) in our Sydney office based in Rosebery, NSW. All office equipment will be provided.

We are looking for someone with an equal amount of passion for both journalism and beauty. Extra points if you’ve Googled skincare ingredient lists, know Lady Danger from Ruby Woo and what retinol actually does for skin, and can come up with original beauty puns on the fly.

The ideal candidate will be a 2nd or 3rd year Media & Communications University student who is keen to experience what it’s like to work in a fast-paced, creative publishing start-up where innovation, collaboration and having no ego are key.

Duties will include the usual: keeping tabs on the beauty cupboard (the best task of all), transcribing interviews, getting creative on Photoshop, testing and reviewing products (*eyes light up), occasionally assisting on shoots and much more as the role evolves to suit your interests.
