The Top Beauty Trends From Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring 2024
Scandinavians know how to inspire us with their beauty looks…
There’s nothing we love more than perusing the street style beauty looks of industry insiders at fashion events around the globe. One of our favourites? Copenhagen Fashion Week, of course. It’s no secret that Scandinavians are style and beauty icons and this year’s Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring 2024 attendees gave us exactly the beauty inspiration we needed. Think bold lips, multi-use beauty products and TikTok’s newest obsession, ‘strawberry makeup’ (what would a fashion week in 2023 be without some TikTok inspired trends?).
On the ground at Copenhagen Fashion Week, Helen Driscoll took to the streets and behind the scenes to show us the top beauty trends for the upcoming season. Here, we round up the trends to know directly from the streets (and runways) of Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring 2024 so you, too, can channel that effortless Scandinavian vibe.
Strawberry Makeup
TikTok’s latest obsession, ‘strawberry makeup’ was front and center on the OpéraSport runway.
The OpéraSPORT beauty look saw models grace the runway with glowing skin and perfectly rosy eyes and cheeks, thanks to an influence from TikTok’s ‘strawberry makeup’ trend. The look emphasises effortlessly blushed cheeks, with a wash of soft pink on the eyelids and a hint of strawberry-pink on the lips. Although makeup was the focus, the hair look can’t be forgotten. Hair looks harnessed the individuality of the models and were tailored to suit their natural hair, from slick buns to loose waves.
Runway Beauty
Everything from slick buns, natural hair, rosy make-up and shimmery décolletages were seen on the runways.
Runways are often the source of the latest viral beauty trends, so of course we kept a close eye on the models at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Clean-girl slick buns commonly graced the runways, meaning the go-to look will safely remain a staple in the season to come. However, if you’re more of an effortless ‘roll out of bed’ hair girl, never fear. Undone hair looks were also prevalent, with effortless tousled waves another common runway choice. The makeup looks stuck to the rosy theme and shimmery décolletages were also a favourite.
From The Streets
The runways aren’t the only place to look for beauty inspiration.
One of our go-to places to source beauty inspiration at fashion weeks are the streets and Copenhagen show attendees didn’t hold back. Makeup looks varied from pops of colour to barely there glowy looks. Bold red lips were a common beauty choice among show-goers, however, everything from neutral lined lips, lip oils and balms were also seen. One thing we know for sure is that Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic Pillow Talk Lipstick and Lip Liner isn’t going anywhere and remains a firm favourite among the industry insiders.

Less Is More
Minimalism; a Scandinavian favourite.
Scandinavians are known for their minimalist approach when it comes to interior style and their beauty looks are not much different. That ‘less is more’ aesthetic was a favourite among show attendees, with hair looks of choice displaying less focus on intentional styling and more of an undone vibe. As for ‘less is more’ makeup, we saw fresh, natural and glowy looks with a hint of colour often the highlight.
Little To No Jewellery
If you’re going for a statement earring, forget about wearing a necklace.
One trend that may come as a surprise–little to no jewellery. Channeling that minimalistic vibe once again, bare earlobes were a regular sight. Where necklaces were seen, earrings weren’t (and vice versa). The OpéraSPORT show saw some models rocking statement hoops, while others were completely jewellery free, letting their hair and makeup looks shine through. This trend also spilled onto the streets, where attendees often opted for statement earrings or elegant necklaces, but rarely both.
Top Predictions
Listen up–we have the top trend predictions for the upcoming season straight from the experts.
What better way to finish our roundup than with the top predictions for the upcoming season, straight from Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring 2023 makeup artists and hair stylists themselves. Leading makeup artist at the OpéraSPORT show, Anne Staunsager, predicts a trend for multi-use beauty products. Specifically, she says we will be opting for the same product across the lips, cheeks and eyes. As for hair, lead hair stylist at the OpéraSPORT show, Hanna Remirez, reports a rising trend for slick hairstyles, as well as long luscious locks. So, put down those scissors and get ready to grow those manes.
