BACKSTAGE BEAUTY: CAROLINA HERRERA A/W 15
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, ponytails are perennially chic.
On Monday at New York Fashion Week, super sleek ponytails were re-imagined at Carolina Herrera A/W 15 by master hair guru Orlando Pita, who bound them with silver leather using simple steps and TRESemmé styling products you can use yourself at home.
“Our collection this season was based on the light patterns of the sun on water that lead to these beautiful wave shapes and blurred prints,” says Carolina Herrera. Adding, “Orlando’s wrapped ponytail pulls the outfit together, creating a striking contrast to the soft layers but in a way that still feels quite feminine and wearable.”
In keeping with the watery theme, models looked as if they just walked (ever so elegantly) out of the shower – with supermodel Karlie Kloss both opening and closing the show.
“I’ve enjoyed working the simple pony a few times this season and our wrapped version at Carolina Herrera is an easy update to bring a little more drama to an evening look,” says Pita. “The tight shape highlights the nape of your neck in a way that is subtly sexy.”
