BACKSTAGE BEAUTY: CARLA ZAMPATTI S/S 15

On Wednesday, formidable Australian designer Carla Zampatti celebrated 50 years in fashion with a spectacular runway show held at the Sydney Opera House.

The spring/summer collection, which consisted of vivid pink and bright yellow set against her signature black and white design palette, and deservedly saw a standing ovation from guests.

Backstage, the models who were also wearing Cerrone jewels, had their hair styled into a juxtaposition of textures.

Hair Director, Daren Borthwick for TONI&GUY, created a hair look that focused on clean design and a polished wet look finish which also had an element of structure yet softness around the face.

“[Looking] polished was definitely key throughout every element of the show, which the hair only accentuates,” says Katy Reeve, National Creative Director TONI&GUY Australia. “Working alongside Daren [Borthwick] was also magic.”

STEP 1

Prep hair with label.m Volume Mousse by applying liberally through the roots to mid lengths of the hair, leaving the ends naturally textured.

STEP 2

Create a low side part to the left side, leaving a diagnoal section of hair on the right side along the front hairline out. hairline.

STEP 3

Next, apply Label.m Gel  through the roots and comb so the hair is flat to the head. Then, secure hair into a low tight ponytail at the nape of the neck using an elastic band. Tie a small piece of hair around the elastic and seal with label.m Extreme Hold Hairspray.

STEP 4

To create a wet effect, apply more label.M Gel to the front panel around the face – this will allow you to manipulate the hair into soft curls with a textured and separated feel.

STEP 5

To finish, spritz label.m Shine Spray all over.
