YOUR FAVOURITE POWDER BRONZER NOW COMES IN LIQUID FORM

You can try searching, but you’d be hard pressed to find a bronzer as iconic as NARS Laguna.

Until now, the universally flattering bronzer – a diffused brown laced with gold shimmer – has only been available in a powder (and okay, also liquid illuminator but that’s another story). While that hasn’t stopped it from picking up multiple awards and winning some major celebrity fans including the likes of Lily Aldridge and Phoebe Tonkin, we’ve always wondered not if but when NARS would finally drop Laguna in a liquid.

Then, a month ago, a press release came through to the Gritty Pretty office introducing the cosmetic giant’s latest collection, Tahiti Bronze, and lo and behold, in the lineup, at long last, was liquid Laguna enriched with antioxidant-rich monoï and tamanu oils and vanilla extract, no less.

Housed in a sleek, matte-black pump bottle, the new liquid laguna is sheer enough to be mixed into your base without making your face look like its been cooked. For a more contoured look, gently dab and blend the creamy formula along the hollows of your cheeks, right under your cheek bones.

Backstory: the new collection was inspired by and contains many ingredients native to the island of Motu Tané, off the coast of Bora Bora, which, by the way, is owned by none other than Mr. François Nars. Backstory behind the backstory: The makeup mastermind sold his company in 2000 and bought the island with some of the proceeds. Bliss! FYI – Nars remains the creative force and the sole campaign photographer for his eponymous brand to this day.

Also among the new releases is the original classic powder Laguna in a limited edition compact complete with a mini ‘Ita’ kabuki brush, so if you haven’t tried the liquid or the powder, do yourself a solid – or a liquid – and grab the cult-favourite shade when the collection drops in Mecca Cosmetica next Tuesday, 26 April. This one’s coming in hot.
