ZOË FOSTER BLAKE SHARES THREE WAYS TO GET AN AMAZINGER FACE

She’s the beauty hero the world deserves, and also the one it needs right now.

Zoë Foster Blake uses no alias (that we know of) and wears no costumes (that we know of), but she’s been saving people from the perils of angry eyebrows, free radicals and pigmentation outbreaks for yonks.

The former beauty editor, founder of Go-To Skincare and author, whose latest book Amazinger Face is a compendium of smart beauty moves for everyday life, let us pick her brains and get all up in her beauty biz for a profile spot in the latest issue of Gritty Pretty magazine.

What follows is a little bit of that 30-minute phone call we kept aside just for blog readers, in which she details three surefire ways to get an Amazinger Face.

Enjoy!

HOW TO GET AN AMAZINGER FACE

According to Zoë Foster Blake

1. ADD A BOOSTER

“Mine would obviously be Face Hero, but it’s about looking at whatever is the problem and generally at this time of the year, it’s dryness and dehydration. So, get a hydrating serum in there, or add some face oil, or do a hydrating mask and leave it on as a night cream twice a week, which is what I do.”

2. EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE, EXFOLIATE

“So I like chemical exfoliants and I think AHAs are brilliant! Lactic acids are the most gentle AHAs if your skin is a bit sensitive. If you listen to everyone who tells you to use sunscreen and use a primer and contouring and makeup, you’ve got to get all that shit off and cleansing does a good job and does most of the heavy lifting if you’re using the right one, but exfoliating three times a week is important.”

3. MASTER YOUR BASE, CORRECTOR & CONCEALER

“Sure, spend your money on skincare, but make sure you get your base, corrector and concealer right. Don’t stop until you find the right one! Don’t leave the house feeling like, ‘Oh looks a bit muddy for me or it makes me look ghosty’. Keep searching until you find the right one. They’re out there! Having even-toned skin or glowy skin or mattified skin – whatever suits your needs – means that the rest of your make-up can be quite basic.”
