WTF Is Retinol?!
The buzz around retinol, a form of Vitamin A, is audible. It works by accelerating skin turnover so you've got a fresh, youthful mug 24/7. Rewards await: less fine lines, wrinkles and congestion; improved skin texture and plumpness, but it does comes with some caveats:
Gradually phase it into your routine. A strength of 0.3% or 3TR is a good place to start to avoid the flakiness, dryness, and peeling often associated with first-time use.
Always wear SPF when using retinol, which makes skin more sensitive.
Avoid using higher strengths with exfoliating AHAs and BHAs. You’re already turning over layers of skin, remember?
Now go forth, baby face.
