#NotSponsored: Is The Foreo Luna 3 A Skincare Routine Must-Have?

Beauty and technology are arguably the two most rapidly expanding industries in the world. So, when the two worlds collide to create beauty devices, it can be hard to keep our fingers on the pulse. But if there is one brand that has remained steadfast despite the ever-changing industry, it is FOREO.

Known for its cleansing and masking devices, the brand was founded by Filip Sedic in 2013 to ensure beauty technology was accessible and understandable to everyone. With the goal of creating cleansing devices that were uncomplicated and could be used anytime, anywhere, the brand has solidified itself as a go-to for self-care products. Now with a product offering of upwards of 30 products, the brand is not only a leader on the technology front but has also made its foray into skincare formulas that promise to leave your skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth. 

But, naturally, with innovation and technology comes a heftier price tag than some other skincare products which can leave us wondering if the investment is worth it. Well, because I am willing to put my body on the line for you all, I put the LUNA 3 Sensitive device to the test over the past three months. Here, I reveal all…

The Sell: An ultra-soft, hygienic silicone facial cleansing device that leaves you with younger looking skin in a flash. With 16 customisable intensities and a number of different firming massages to target different facial zones, the LUNA 3 unclogs pores and removes dirt, oil and impurities with ease.

The Price: $299

The Review: I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve always been a little sceptical about facial cleansing tools. For one, I have very sensitive skin so am always wary of anything that could irritate it further and I also figured I’d been doing a pretty decent cleansing job with just my hands. But upon trialling the FOREO LUNA 3 Sensitive device for three months (yep–I was committed), my opinion has changed. Not another skincare fad: these devices actually work. 

I like to use the LUNA 3 every second night to give my skin a really deep cleanse and refresh and have found that my skin is significantly less temperamental than pre-device (yes, even during that time of the month). Particularly in my problem areas where I experience a lot of congestion (around my nose and chin), I have noticed that my texture has improved and my complexion a lot less red and irritated. 

I also really enjoy how the device is connected to my iPhone–with the FOREO App–so I can control it via Bluetooth and the charge lasts forever. Okay–not literally forever–but I haven’t had to charge it since the initial full charge when I opened it in January. Talk about impressive! The only thing I would suggest is ensuring you use the device with a calming cream cleanser (rather than a foam or exfoliating cleanser) as the LUNA 3 itself will delve deeper into your pores than before, so opting for something that is hydrating will help ensure irritation is kept at bay. Overall, though, this device has become a permanent fixture in my shower which can mean only one thing: I am a convert.
