8 Products Our Editors Can’t Get Enough Of This Month: June 2021 Edition

What we’re loving, coveting and “borrowing” from the Gritty Pretty beauty cupboard this month.

Special Projects Producer

“For me, fragrance is often something that transports me to another time or place. It usually brings back memories of a past holiday and evokes a sense of nostalgia. While we can’t travel at the moment, I love the way that Versace’s Dylan Blue Pour Femme carries me to Europe momentarily. When I spray it on my skin, I imagine I’m wandering amongst fresh wildflowers in a field where the coastline meets the sea. I usually prefer a more masculine fragrance – however the seductive, floral notes combined with woody base notes brings a sense of depth and sensuality. And I’m 100% here for it.”

Danielle Gay

Beauty Director & Executive Editor

“I was first introduced to Sisley Hair Rituel La Creme 230 at a launch event where I had it applied to my hair in the process of a blow dry and treatment. My hair looked and felt so good that it was hard to determine exactly what it was that made my hair feel like silk. Once I tried the Sisley Hair Rituel La Creme 230 at home, it was obvious that this standout product was the reason. I love that it protects my hair (from heat up to 230 degrees!) but also has an instant smoothing effect when applied as a glossing treatment.”

“It’s never too early to start adding anti-ageing skincare products into your routine. So, I’ve been crushing hard on Jeuneora’s #TBT Age Defying Daily Serum lately. Formulated with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide (perhaps my favourite skincare ingredient ever), this serum works to support your skin barrier function and deliver a serious glow. Plus, who doesn’t love a chic bottle to pop on their vanity?”

Kate Reeves

Art Director

“The perfect product to help you separate your work-from-home day from your relaxation time, Leif’s Wild Rosella Body Cleanser is a new favourite. A luxurious, fragrant body wash that leaves my skin soft and hydrated, I love to use it in my bath in the evenings. Accompanied by some bougie candles and a glass of red, of course!”

Sue Hoffman

Brand Partnerships Manager

“There’s a reason people refer to some products as ‘the original’ and ‘the best’ and for me that line sums up Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage Anti-Ageing Daily Serum perfectly.  As one of the first super-charged serums (thank you Idebenone) on the market back in 2005, I fell in love with it then and am still in love with it now. It just works. I can visibly notice a difference. After a couple of days using Prevage my skin is softer, smoother and just looks better overall. If I could bathe in this product I would!”

Eliza Hynd

Head Of Partnerships

“We’ve all learnt by now that lockdown forces you to slow down and really enjoy the simple pleasures in life. For me, it’s family time and a nice long bath. Cue: Salt By Hendrix’s Bath To Body Oil. This hydrating, fast-drying oil is a welcomed addition to my winter beauty regimen. I love the glass packaging and the fact that it’s infused with flower buds. Pretty and practical!”

Eleanor Pendleton

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

“If you have oily/combination skin that is in need of a good detox, look no further than Fresh’s Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask. It can be applied as a mask, cleanser or spot treatment on blemishes. It contains umbrian clay, which balances and clarifies without over-drying. After applying it to my skin, the mask was dry after 5 minutes and did leave me with that ‘tight’ feeling once it was fully dry. After removing the mask with warm water, my skin felt clean and soft. I followed this with a nourishing face oil to rehydrate.”

Liz Finnigan

Senior Designer

“If you need your foundation to go on (and stay on) like a dream, then Milk Makeup’s Hydro Grip Primer is for you. This silky smooth primer goes on with ease and keeps my base on all day long. It’s also cruelty-free, which is a huge tick in my books!”
