Supermodel Gigi Hadid is without a doubt one of our beauty icons, but she’s also notoriously private—so when she shares insights into her beauty routine, we take receipts. As a world-renowned model, the 26-year-old is used to being in the makeup chair, which makes her beauty advice all the more valuable. In a recent Instagram post, Hadid revealed some of her beauty “faves” and we spotted an Australian brand among them: Lanolips. That’s right: Gigi Hadid’s favourite lip balm is by an Australian brand (oh, and it only costs $14.95).

Sharing some of her beauty must-haves, Hadid captioned the picture of her bathroom top shelf with this: “Tonight’s ‘me time’ at the farm – skincare line-up.” Right there, alongside Tata Harper’s Nourishing Oil Cleanser and a Ouai Hand Crème (how luxe!) was the humble tube of Lanolips 101 Ointment.

A good Lanolips lip balm is a cult product for the ages—so we’re not surprised Hadid is a fan. Each balm is made using ultra-medical grade Australian lanolin and it’s not only cruelty-free but free of parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil and sulphates —plus dermatologically tested. It has earned cult status because it’s one of the most hydrating balms on the market and is a pro at locking in moisture, without being sticky or greasy.

The best bit? They start at $14.95, which is extremely affordable. They also have such a good range of flavours: peach, watermelon, coconut, strawberry and green apple to name a few!

Hadid’s pick? We spotted Lanolips’s 101 Ointment on her top shelf, which is a total game-changer. Lanolips 101 Ointment The Original Multipurpose Superbalm 17.5ml is slightly more expensive at $18.95 but is worth the extra cash. This guy lives up to its name as a Superbalm—it’s an all-over multi-purpose balm that can be used on the lips, cuticles and also on the skin for a deep hit of hydration (it literally holds 200% of its weight in water). If you suffer from super dry skin in the winter months, this is a salve you’ll want to have in your handbag at all times. Lanolips’s 101 Ointment can also be used on nursing nipples—and we all know Gigi Hadid is a new mum. It’s one of those products that is good to have in the cupboard—you’ll never know when you’ll need it.

Like we said, it’s rare that Hadid shares beauty advice, but when she does it’s always a breath of fresh air. When she shared her new-mum beauty routine with American Vogue, she listed Cetaphil as one of her favourite cleansers, admitted she puts toothpaste on pimples and also shared: “Sometimes I’m not washing my face, I don’t brush my hair for a few days.”

You can watch the video below, and yes, Lanolips makes an appearance, as does Hadid’s tip for applying it: “Another thing that I like to do with my moisturising and my skincare before I start makeup is to moisturise my lips. When you moisturise your lips in the beginning, then it can kind of sit on your lips through your routine so that when you get to lipstick at the end, it’s sat for a bit.” So simple, yet genius.
