If there is one signifier of New York Fashion Week, it’s messy-haired models.
Textured tresses immediately enhance a collection with a certain degree of cool.
And, at BCBGMAXAZRIA A/W 15 in New York last week, it was very cool.
“We wanted the hair to feel very undone and to play with the natural texture of our models’ hair,” Orlando Pita, legendary hairstylist and hair director for TRESemmé, told Gritty Pretty backstage.
“I’m feeling really inspired by the shift this season towards more wearable, subtle styles that feel very lived in and organic. It’s that Daria Werbowy turtleneck tucked hair look,” explained Pita backstage, sea salt spray in hand.

Step 1.
Start by washing your hair using TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Weightless Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner and towel dry.
Step 2.
Spritz through TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray from root to tip. Rough-dry hair with a blow dryer and scrunch with your fingers. Focus on building volume at the roots.
Step 3.
For extra volume, massage a small amount of TRESemmé Runway Collection Max the Volume Root Lifting Cream into the roots.
Step 4.
Pull hair into a low pony and secure with a thin elastic. Pull out small pieces of hair around the hairline to frame your face.
Step 5.
To finish, spray hair with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray to hold. Tuck the ponytail into a rollneck jumper.
