Beauty Editor’s Top Picks – November 2018

What we’re loving, coveting and “borrowing” from the Gritty Pretty beauty cupboard.

R+Co Waterfall Moisture + Shine Lotion, $41

If you’re a fine-haired girl who loves R+Co’s High Dive Moisture + Shine Creme but find it juuuuust the slightest bit heavy (or was that just us?), then this one’s for you. It has all the same benefits as High Dive – it mosturizes fried hair, tames frizz, and leaves behind a nice glossy sheen – but in a lighter lotion formula. There’s zero stickiness, and it works on damp hair pre-blowdry, or on dry hair to tame pesky flyaways and hydrate raggedy ends.

Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Mail Order Bride and Forever Fades Fast, $32 each

We love that this nail polish delivers the pigment-rich, opaque colour and shine of a gel mani, minus the damaging side-effects, and we really love the two, summer-ready takes on pink, from the punchy pastel Mail Order Bride, to the pale rose of Forever Fades Fast.

Lanolips Rose Gold 101 Ointment, $19

The cult multi-purpose balm gets an infusion of on-trend rose gold. Use as a tint on lips and cheeks for that rosy, you-think-I-just-came-back-from-Pilates-but-really-I-was-sprawling-on-the-sofa flush.

Gallinée Face Vinegar, $44

A face vinegar? Colour us intrigued. This product brings together two buzzy beauty topics – the resurgence of toners and emergence of probiotic skincare – in one nifty formula. Rather than stripping skin, this uses hibiscus vinegar to gently purify and soothe the skin, while prebiotics and postbiotics keep skin’s natural bacteria at healthy levels to minimise irritation and inflammation. Soak a cotton pad, and sweep it over the face after cleansing and before your serums (and no, there’s no stinky, astringent-y smell or feel).

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush The Riviera Collection, $20 each, December 1 at Priceline

We admit it: we’re suckers for pretty packaging. So while we’re already fans of these iconic blushers (first launched in 1863, the powder incorporates water and mother-of-pearl for a deliciously light and silky formula, and sheer colour) the limited-edition Parisian-inspired illustrated pot puts a smile on our faces every single morning.

Amouage Love Tuberose 100ml EDP, $499

Christmas is coming up fast, and we would hate for you to forget to gift yourself, so might we suggest this splurge-worthy scent? A floral, fruity gourmand, it has notes of tuberose and gardenia, chantilly cream and sandalwood.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask in Lavender and Maple, $40 each

The super-hydrating lip mask has two new delectable varieties. It’s the same organic agave nectar, jojoba oil and trans-resveratrol goodness, but now in a relaxing lavender (perfect pre-bedtime) or bronze maple shade.

Tell us, are you planning to add any of these to your wish list?
