Victoria Baron, the official makeup artist for CHANEL Beauty Australia, explained to Gritty Pretty how the range is versatile due to its focus on neutrals. “Despite being a makeup artist l don’t have a particularly large personal kit,” she explains. “I like products and colours that I can use for all parts of my life with ease. This CHANEL makeup wardrobe of neutrals has an ease, a classic polish and at times an unexpected subtlety with the most bold of looks."
In the collection is a slew of shades with rosy or golden undertones across the Rouge Allure lipstick and Le Vernis nail ranges, all made to pair back with CHANEL’s Ultra Le Teinte Fluide foundation shades. As Baron attests, a wardrobe of neutrals offers endless options for creating a chic look that oozes Parisian nonchalance. “Experimenting within a neutral palette allows a freedom to create a range of looks, from a natural barely there wash to a brave impactful statement.”
Given the Fall Winter 2022 collection is all about layering neutrals across eyes, lips, cheeks and nails, Baron has some expert advice on achieving that: “There is a beautiful harmony between texture, feel, tone, application, shape and longevity of the CHANEL makeup formulations. For me each colour collection gives a freedom of creativity in a safe space to experiment, allowing the products to be made your own."
