Yes, YOU Should Use A Face Oil — Here’s Why

Trust us on this one.

A face oil is one of the most nourishing products that you can apply to your skin; however, they’re often misunderstood. Some consider a daily face oil to be a non-negotiable (um, yes, hi, hello!) others, not so much.

If you fall into the latter category, we’d like to have a word with you now.

You see, the right face oil has the power to both intensely moisturise and soothe skin while also boosting radiance. And the oil on the top of our list? Weleda Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil.

The 411

In our not-so-humble opinion, the best formulas contain a mix of plant-derived oils to target a combination of concerns. Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil contains eight organic plant oils: pomegranate seed oil (to regenerate and protect against external aggressors), apricot kernel oil (to add moisture), argan kernel oil (to smooth), avocado oil (to support skin regeneration), jojoba seed oil (to soften), macadamia seed oil (to nourish), safflower seed oil (to help regulate oil production) and sesame seed oil (to double down on moisture).

The ingredients found in Weleda products are all grown either in the brand’s biodynamic gardens or cultivated by their fair trade partners around the world, without pesticides or other toxic chemicals. (FYI: All Weleda products are cruelty free and 100 per cent certified natural by NATRUE.)

WHAT DOES A FACE OIL DO, EXACTLY?

We can’t stress this enough: Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil is like liquid gold for skin. Thanks to its high antioxidant content, this stuff actively defends against pollution and other external influences including UV rays and extreme temperatures. It also tackles wrinkles and dullness, leading to a brighter, glowing complexion.

WILL IT MAKE MY SKIN FEEL OILY

A legitimate concern! Fortunately, the answer is no. Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil is lightweight and sinks into skin like an absolute dream.

While it might seem counterintuitive, face oils can actually help to regulate oily skin. By applying good oils to your skin, this tells your body that your skin is already hydrated, meaning it doesn’t need to add any more oil. So applying the good stuff (hello Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil) leads to less production of the bad (read: pore-clogging) stuff. Make sense?

HOW TO USE IT

Apply a few drops to your hands and gently press into damp skin, morning and night. Or if you’d like to give your moisturiser a boost, add a few drops to your day or night cream.

Our advice: add a few drops of Pomegranate Firming Facial Oil to your moisturiser before an event to create a smooth, hydrated base for your foundation. You’ll never go back.
