Gritty Pretty Real Reviews: La Mer’s The Eye Concentrate
We asked 20 Gritty Pretty Real Review members to put their body face on the line – testing La Mer’s The Eye Concentrate during lockdown. Here, they share their honest thoughts.
THE REVIEW
Like most things in life, when it comes to your skin, prevention is better than a cure.
As we grow older, fine lines and wrinkles are a natural part of life; ageing is a privilege and there isn’t much we can do about that.
What we can do, however, is adopt good habits and start using an eye cream from our 30s to slow down the visible signs of ageing — and that’s where La Mer’s The Eye Concentrate comes in.
Since launching 10 years ago, The Eye Concentrate’s potent formula has developed a cult-following across the globe for its ability to smooth the eye area, brighten dark circles and deeply hydrate.
Let’s take a look at the ingredient list, shall we? The brand’s patented ocean-derived Miracle Broth™ is complemented by Concentrated Miracle Broth™ and time-released Encapsulated Miracle Broth™, making it an all-round anti-ageing powerhouse. (FYI: Miracle Broth™ is a skin-soothing combination of fermented sea kelp, vitamins and minerals. For more on how it’s harvested, see here.) The Clarity Ferment helps activate the skin’s natural self-stabilising process to help brighten and diminish wrinkles; while La Mer’s signature antioxidant powerhouse Lime Tea Concentrate helps defend against damage from environmental elements like pollution.
THE NEW FORMULA
Recently, The Eye Concentrate had a makeover. Now, it is more concentrated (with three times the amount of Concentrated Miracle Broth™) and more renewing than ever before.
Our favourite part of this product is the application process itself. Twice daily, dab a small amount onto the cooling applicator and gently massage onto the eye area. This helps boost circulation and revive tired eyes and also feels… nice.
We could harp on about The Eye Concentrate all day but we know you’re busy. Plus, when it comes to beauty products, nothing beats a review or recommendation from your peers. And that’s where you come in, dear reader. Gritty Pretty tapped 20 of our Real Reader Review members — sign up here, if you haven’t already! — and asked them to review the new-and-improved The Eye Concentrate for a 30 day period to see what kind of effect it had on the skin around their eye area.
THE FEEDBACK
“After 14 days, I noticed that my skin looked plumper… the lines disappeared for sure,” Gritty Pretty reader Claire Hakof said. “The eye cream is really lovely; it is very silky and smooth. When you apply it with the applicator, it’s gorgeous.”
Minella Addison considers the The Eye Concentrate a worthy investment: ”I just felt brighter and [the formula] keeps the area really hydrated. There are things you need to treat yourself with and for me, [those are] things that are going to have an impact on how I’m going to look long term. That’s really important to me.”
Enough from us! We’ll let our gorgeous Gritty Pretty Real Reader Review members tell you about the benefits themselves. In this video, the five women share their thoughts…
