6 Products Our Editors Can’t Get Enough Of This Month: October 2020 Edition

What we’re loving, coveting and “borrowing” from the Gritty Pretty beauty cupboard this month.

PSA: my eyebrows have a mind of their own. To put it politely, they are basically the bushy eyebrow trend on steroids – so you can imagine that they require some pretty heavy duty gel to keep them in place. Enter: Benefit’s 24-Hour Brow Setter Gel ($45). This stuff is what my eyebrow dreams are made of. Not only does the gel come with a precise brush applicator to grip even the smallest of hairs but the gel itself dries down to ensure they don’t move a muscle during the day. My new favourite, hands down.

Eleanor Pendleton, Founder & Editor-In-Chief

There’s boujee and then there’s Balmain in a Cire Trudon candle form ($229). A unique partnership between the two Parisian houses, the gold leaf is hand applied onto glass before it is lacquered – resulting in many fine cracks, ensuring that each candle is truly unique. And, if the packaging alone wasn’t enough to win me over, there’s the scent: leathery notes, Atlas cedarwood, gunpowder and cigar notes mixed with a mysterious and distinguished black rose. Put simply, this candle adds luxe to any home.

I love a (faux!!!!!) tan but I’m also lazy which means gradual tan is my method of choice. Mostly because the stakes are lower when you’re going for a light tint over full colour. My latest obsession? Mecca Cosmetica Sunless Goddess Gradual Tan ($36). It’s lightweight and non-sticky and provides a subtle bronze tan without a hint of orange.

Keratin is one of those treatments that I love for my hair – but the cost does mean that I tend to only do it once a year during summer. It just makes life so much easier! So when I saw that the clever people at IGK had created the Good Behaviour Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray ($49), it was love at first sight. Learning how and when to use it is definitely the key as you can use it on wet and dry hair. I personally found the best result was using it the day after I washed my hair for a smooth, second-day finish. However, it does only last for 24 hours, so you will need to top up if the frizz factor returns.

Sometimes you just instantly feel a product doing its job – and the Frank Body Original Coffee Scrub ($16.95) is one such product. Perfect for sloughing away dead skin cells without stripping the natural oils of your skin, this scrub is my go-to for when I want smooth, silky skin. Added bonus? The caffeine helps to even skin tone and reduce the appearance of scarring. Love, love!

Eliza Hynd, Head of Partnerships

With enough product to last a lifetime (or at least pretty close), the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer ($65) is a winner in my eyes. Melting into the skin with ease, this formula blends flawlessly under my eyes and over any blemishes that pop up. I also love that the finish is more on the radiant side which makes my skin look ultra-hydrated and reduces the risk of creasing.
