This year, Gritty Pretty was thrilled to be named the Official Hair and Beauty Media Partner for PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival! On Thursday evening, we hosted our very own runway: Urban Oasis. The show was a celebration of our First Nations talent, alongside leading and emerging Australian streetwear designers.
Ginny’s Girl Gang opened the show, featuring models with hair styled covering the face, allowing earrings by Haus of Dizzy to make a true statement. A similar look was seen at Chris Ran Lin, where models had long bangs that were swept across the forehead for an edgy look.
At Nungala Creative and Amber Days, hair stylists from Eleven Australia embraced each model’s own hair textures, allowing their natural beauty to shine.
Accessories stole the show at Moss Tunstall, where wide-brimmed hats reigned supreme. At Homie, streetwear accessories like caps and sunglasses were the perfect finishing touch.
At Yanggurdi and Gammin Threads, conceptual eyeliner in orange and blue colourways style the runway and gave the collections a modern edge, a head-turning moment created by Lancôme’s team of makeup artists.
That’s a wrap! Visit the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival website for more coverage from the week.
